The Green Insurer’s vision to give customers a genuine option to buy green insurance easily, aligns with the B Corp principles. By becoming certified by B Corp we’re holding ourselves to the highest standard and making ourselves accountable for our actions as a business. We’ve already had to make some changes to be eligible and are delighted to have been accepted by B Corp.
B Corp Certification requirements
When we launched in 2023, we were proud to achieve B Corp Pending status. This reflected our commitment to giving customers a genuine option to buy green insurance, in line with the B Corp principles.
Pending status is available to start-ups, as one of the key requirements for full certification is that a business must have been trading for at least 12 months.
In July 2025, following a thorough independent review process, we’re delighted to announce that The Green Insurer was accredited as fully B Corp Certified and can be found in the B Corp directory here.

Our journey from Pending to Certified
When we first entered the B Corp process in 2023, we saw it as a natural extension of our vision, to make it easy for customers to choose greener insurance.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve continued to review and identify areas we can improve our Overall B Impact Score, using B Corp’s B Impact Assessment.
Based on the B Impact assessment, The Green Insurer earned an overall score of 96.0.
The median score for ordinary businesses who complete the assessment is currently 50.9*.
What’s next?
Becoming a Certified B Corp isn’t the end, it’s the beginning of an ongoing commitment. Certification must be renewed every three years, and we’ll continue working to improve our impact.
