Short-term learner driver insurance is available for any duration between 7 and 90 days. It is designed to cover the learner until they pass their test. It can be renewed once it ends provided that the learner driver has not passed their practical driving test.

The shortest policy we offer is 7 days. Due to the costs of setting up these policies, we cannot offer shorter policies any cheaper than the 7-day price. If you want fewer days, you can buy a 7-day policy, but it will end when you pass your driving test.

We believe that this is the fairest option for you, as to offer policies shorter than 7 days at the 7-day price would not be giving you the best value.

We offer learner driver policies for any number of days between 7 days and 90 days. This means that if you have a driving test already booked, you can set your policy to expire at the end of the day of your test. Your learner driver policy does cover you for your driving test if you're taking the test in the insured car. Please remember though, that your policy expires as soon as you pass your practical driving test. Do not rely on the learner driver insurance policy to drive after you have passed or you may end up driving uninsured.

If you have not passed when your learner driver policy ends, you can renew the policy and benefit from our lower renewal prices (they are lower than for new customers). Be sure to accept the renewal in your app or portal or call us to take advantage of renewal prices. You can also set your policy to continuous cover, which will mean that it renews automatically to make sure you never go uninsured. You'll just need to let us know when you pass your test so that we can stop it renewing in the future and process any refund due. You can do this in our app, customer portal or by calling us.
